The goal of this lecture is to explain the work of libraries, research services and IT services. Employees of these three organisational units not only have various duties, but often, greatly differing backgrounds, styles of communication and skills.

During the first hour of this lecture, all three service institutions will be introduced in their entirety. The last half hour of the lecture will be devoted to a discussion, in which attendees are strongly encouraged to participate, about of the role of service institutions in relation to the two use cases: What role do they play in the use cases? What can they achieve? What are the duties of researchers, other university service institutions, university leadership and third parties?
