Susanne Blumesberger

 

earned her master’s degree and doctorate in journalism and communications, as well as German philology at the Vienna University. From 1996–2005, she worked at the Austrian National Library, first on a handbook project, then a collection of handwriting, from 1999–2014 in acquisitions, and thereafter on the coordination of numerous scientific research projects at the Institute for Science and Art and at the Institute for German Philology at the Vienna University. In 2003, she won the Theodor Körner Prize and in 2004, the funding prize for science granted by the city of Vienna. She then taught at the Vienna University, and as of 2007, began work at the Vienna University Library. She was responsible for customer management for the Phaidra repository, led Phaidra Local, worked on EU-wide projects, and in 2014/2015, began working toward her education degree in library and Information studies. Currently, she is still working towards her degree in library and information studies (MSc), and has written for numerous national and international scientific journals. Her current subjects of interest include complex metadata for research data in repositories, requirements management in academic libraries, open access, open data and open science.
